At Passmores’ Business College Newcastle, the Devil is in the Details.

Business College students delivering impromptu speeches

Passmores’ Business College Newcastle has had an outstanding employment rate since its establishment in 1982 – the reason being that they go above and beyond to ensure their students are trained to utilise skills from all areas of the business employment world.

This highly professional learning environment is designed to replicate the workforce and classes are conducted in corporate business surroundings. As a result, the students of Passmores’ Business College Newcastle are required to present themselves in a manner appropriate to a business environment – right down to details such as dress code and grooming, manners, attendance and maintaining a high standard of professionalism at all times.

To help assist with developing and refining these skills, students attend a professional development class once a week where they learn to become proficient at all the things which constitute a polished and highly desirable employee in the current business workforce, from grooming, body language and handshakes to presenting speeches confidently in a highly articulate manner with little preparation – a must in the corporate world.

As part of this professional development, students of Passmores’ Business College Newcastle participate in many practical activities. This term students had the fantastic opportunity to attend a tutorial at neighbouring college, Mask  Make-Up Academy , where females were taught some of the tips and tricks of makeup application and hair styles to help refine their corporate image. A few weeks later, all students were professionally assessed by a recruitment officer from Hunter Valley recruitment specialist’s, Peoplefusion, which provided students with feedback to improve their prowess in job interviews.

These things, while seemingly commonplace are often disregarded by many young individuals looking for work in a corporate environment, giving graduates of Passmores’ Business College Newcastle the edge in the workforce. Newcastle’s Office Administration Course – Become What Employers Are Looking For!

Newcastle's Office Administration Course at PassmoresIt is often said that it is hard to find good office staff.  Why?  Because office work isn’t as easy as people like to think; it takes a certain personality type to be able to complete the work well.  Which is why at Passmores’, we offer a well rounded Office Administration Course, specifically designed to equip our graduates to succeed in the work force.

The Passmores’ Office Administration Course, based in Newcastle, combines Office Management, Computer Studies, Keyboard Skills, Human Resource Management, Career Management, Public Relations and Event Management.

These subjects aim to develop professionalism in our office administrators, as people will often look to them for guidance and assistance and as the ‘face of the organisation’. It’s best to gain the respect of others by being professional in every way: the way you talk and express yourself, the way you treat people and the way you dress to come to the office.

Through plenty of teamwork the students also develop the ability to be patient. An Office Administrator needs to have patience, as there will be times when you must overcome obstacles and remain calm in situations that will frustrate you.

Over the years we’ve heard so many employers say the same thing.  They want staff who are friendly and outgoing, who have an eye for detail, who have a great phone manner and who are keen to get the job done well.  We’ve responded by developing a diploma that focuses on developing all of these areas.

Passmores’ Newcastle Office Administration Course can be intense and demanding at times, but the effort required will be rewarded through great job placements at the completion of the diploma. Students will be exposed to excellent career prospects because they will deliver what Passmores’ promises.

Unique Business Courses Newcastle

Passmores’ Business College focuses upon providing Newcastle Courses which combine theory with practice. As part of this aim, all of our business college students have the privilege of participating in the subject, Event Management. We say privilege, because the students actually get to run an event, an event specifically designed to raise money for various charities. Whilst the subject is a lot of hard work our business college students really enjoy the ‘hands on’ aspect of the course.
The students have to manage their own finances, marketing plan and event details. Over the next few weeks our students will get to see the results of all their hard work and have the satisfaction of presenting a cheque to their chosen charity. As one of the business college marketing students commented, “It’s the first time I’ve got to run anything like this myself, let alone do marketing. I’m really enjoying all the practical experience I’m getting”. So great to hear!
